Achatz teams with Detroit Lions to raise $5k for Haitian disaster relief
Achatz Handmade Pie Company Headquartered in Chesterfield Michigan and Achatz Soup form Skratzch operated out of Casco, Michigan held the “Lionshare” event with cooperation of the Detroit Lions and the Salvation Army. On Friday, February 5, three current Detroit Lions (Jason Hanson, Nick Harris and Jerod Devries) and retired Defensive Star Luther Elliss generously donated their time to meet and greet with customers and collect donations for Haitian Disaster Relief. Customers who came in to the stores throughout the day and made a donation of $10 or more for The Salvation Army’s Haiti Relief Operations received a free slice of pie or hot bowl of soup.
A grand total of $5396 was collected at the six participating Achatz Handmade Pie Company locations and at Achatz Soup from Skratzch’s Homebase in Casco, Michigan. All proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Fund in Haiti.
This was the first of many such “benefit type” events planned for 2010 at Achatz Handmade Pie Company’s 6 retail locations. Spring of 2010 will bring the arrival of the seventh retail location in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
