Bringing Hope and Help in the Midst of COVID-19 in Plymouth
With a presence in almost every ZIP code in America, The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to respond to the unique needs of people living in poverty. These challenges are exponentially magnified during times of crisis, including pandemics like coronavirus (COVID-19). Across the United States, we are stepping up to the challenge and continue to serve the most vulnerable populations in each community. This is just one of many stories of how we are meeting the needs of those who rely on The Salvation Army during difficult times.
From Majors Keith and Colette Bailey:
We are operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 fielding calls for community appointments and emergencies, and the food pantry is operating Tuesday through Friday. On Mondays we receive food from Forgotten Harvest to distribute to those in need. We are grateful for the daily collaboration with Plymouth United Way, Rotary, Kiwanis and area churches including Ward Church and NorthRidge. Donations we receive are going towards purchasing as many supplies as possible. With the help of Corps members and community volunteers, we are utilizing the donations we receive to keep up on the daily demand of our community needs.
