Bringing Hope and Help in the Midst of COVID-19 in Washtenaw County
With a presence in almost every ZIP code in America, The Salvation Army is uniquely positioned to respond to the unique needs of people living in poverty. These challenges are exponentially magnified during times of crisis, including pandemics like coronavirus (COVID-19). Across the United States, we are stepping up to the challenge and continue to serve the most vulnerable populations in each community. This is just one of many stories of how we are meeting the needs of those who rely on The Salvation Army during difficult times.

The Cracker Barrel in Belleville made a massive food donation to the Washtenaw County Corps Community Center on Wednesday, which included 170 chicken tenders, 10 logs of meatloaf, 230 pounds of chicken, 60 pounds of haddock, 2 cases of trout, 4 cases of sausage, 240 ounces of sirloin steak, 5 cases of fruit, 24 gallons of milk, 90 dozen eggs, 250 heads of cabbage, 19 cases of assorted vegetables, and 350 pounds of potatoes! We are so grateful for their generosity. We were able to distribute the food to our neighbors in need through our food distribution at the Corps Community Center and through our shelters.
