Conner Creek Corps Community Center Serves as Resource Hub for Flooding Victims

Sep 13, 2021

After heavy rains in Detroit in late June caused power outages, property destruction, and injury, The Salvation Army Connor Creek Corps Community Center has hosted representatives from FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) who are on site to lend help to the community. From September 7th to October 13th, Wayne County residents affected by the flooding can come to the corps community center to receive aid. Grants are available to assist with home repairs, temporary housing, temporary replacement of personal property and medical equipment, moving expenses, and more. Residents can also apply for a loan from SBA to cover expenses not covered by insurance.

“We are happy to partner with FEMA and SBA as we help our neighbors during this trying time," said Lieutenant Henry Boateng. "As always, anyone in need is welcome to come through our doors, as we would love to get to know and provide aid to individuals and families who are struggling.”
