Donations to The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit Will be Doubled on Giving Tuesday

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Nov. 23, 2021) — The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is continuing its mission to ensure that Hope Marches On for metro Detroiters in need. On Giving Tuesday, which is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 30, all donations up to $25,000 will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of AT&T Michigan. Amounts donated at physical or virtual red kettles, as well as text-to-give, phone and online donations, will be fully matched, dollar-for-dollar.
As a result of continued economic hardship brought on by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Salvation Army’s ability to raise vital funds to serve those in need is at risk this year. Supporters can donate to the nonprofit in a number of ways, including:

- Donating money via an online or physical red kettle

- Calling 877-SAL-MICH
AT&T Michigan is committed to supporting and strengthening the communities it serves as The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s official corporate bell ringing partner. Through volunteerism, direct giving, matching funds and grants, AT&T continues to make people its priority.

All donations made on Giving Tuesday will go toward The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s $8.3 million fundraising goal to ensure Hope Marches On for metro Detroiters in need. Funds raised will directly benefit communities throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties – and contributions benefit and remain in the community from where the donation is received.
Proceeds from the 2021 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign will provide critical social services and programs to those in need, including feeding and sheltering, outdoor and educational opportunities for at-risk youth, anti-human trafficking initiatives, a free legal aid clinic, emergency disaster services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs and much more. A sustaining, $25 monthly gift helps support The Salvation Army’s much needed programs in a donor’s area.

For supporters who are unable to donate money, there are other ways to give back to The Salvation Army on Giving Tuesday. The nonprofit is also encouraging individuals and families to sign up as volunteer bell ringers by visiting registertoring.com, where they have an option to choose a traditional, two-hour session at a physical red kettle site or participate in a virtual bell ringing shift where they can raise funds from the comfort of their own home.
