Reaching Out With God's Love in Conner Creek
The Salvation Army Conner Creek Corps Community Center is integral in aiding our neighbors in need on the east side. From weekly food distributions to a senior computer lab, the services and programs offered by the Conner Creek Corps are designed to meet the greatest needs in the community.
“Life can be challenging,” said D’Michal Jackson, member of the Corps’ church family and recent high school graduate. “We invite everyone we can to come and bring friends and families for church, social services, and volunteering. We never reject anyone—there’s no room for judgment here. And we make sure of that. Everyone here is loved, just like how everyone is loved under God. We try to practice as much as we preach.”
Jackson has been a member of the Corps for 15 years, volunteering whenever he can. “I like the atmosphere here,” he said. “It’s calming to just be here, helping someone who just needs help. It gives me peace to know I can make someone else’s life better.”
