Press Release: Ring For Bling
“Ring for Bling” offers Salvation Army volunteer bell ringers opportunity to win a diamond necklace
The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division has partnered with iHeart Media for a new volunteer recruitment initiative, “Ring for Bling,” offering metro Detroiters a chance to win an authentic diamond necklace from Lucido Fine Jewelry every time they volunteer as a red kettle bell ringer.
For every red kettle shift a volunteer completes, they will earn one entry into a drawing to win a Gabriel NY diamond necklace valued at over $4,000. One entry will be earned for every two-hour shift worked, and there is no limit to the number of entries one individual can earn. At the conclusion of the 2018 Red Kettle fundraising campaign, a drawing will be conducted and one lucky winner will go home with the necklace.
Those interested in donating their time for a good cause – and a shot at winning some bling – should visit ringbell.org to sign up for shifts. The site allows visitors to select the shift that works best for their schedule. Volunteer bell ringer shifts begin Friday, Nov. 9 and run through Monday, Dec. 24, excluding Thanksgiving and Sundays.
Funds raised by The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Red Kettle campaign provide more than feeding and sheltering those in need; donations also support critical social services and programs throughout the year including outdoor and educational opportunities for children, Pathway of Hope, William Booth Legal Aid Clinic, Emergency Disaster Services and more.
