Roostertail Hosts Inaugural ‘Boxing Day’ Luncheon to Raise Funds for Those in Need

Dec 8, 2022

Last Friday, December 2nd the inaugural ‘Boxing Day’ luncheon took place at Roostertail in Detroit. Roostertail owners Tom and Dianne Schoenith launched the event in the spirit of giving back, as a refresh from the historical London Chop House sing-a-long, continuing the tradition of helping those in need.

The Salvation Army brass band ensemble complimented the event by playing familiar Christmas carols and bringing Christmas cheer.

The event served as a celebration of the season and all that’s been given, with the goal of giving back to the community. The boxes that cover the Christmas trees are symbolic of blessings received, and in turn, a way to gather together and bless others.

Guests at the inaugural ‘Boxing Day’ luncheon had an opportunity to support The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit by donating checks, digital gifts via QR codes and cash via onsite red kettles.

Proceeds will support communities in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties – feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and providing Christmas gifts for families struggling to make ends meet.
