The Salvation Army Stuffs the Bus for Students in Need
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., (July 29, 2019) — The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is working in collaboration with southeast Michigan Walmart locations to provide new school supplies for metro Detroit children in need through its Stuff the Bus event on Saturday, August 3.
As shoppers take care of their back to school shopping at their local Walmart, The Salvation Army will provide a list of supplies, including pencils, backpacks, calculators, erasers, books, paper, flash cards, glue sticks, planners, folders, rulers, scissors, notebooks and more, to set students up for a successful school year.
For those unable to make it to the store that day, there is a searchable online registry with all the items needed; each item requires one click to purchase. Enter “The Salvation Army” in the online registry and select “Michigan” to shop for school supplies for children in need in your community.
Once purchased, donations may be dropped off at a storefront donation bin and distributed to families in the community. Participating Walmart stores include:
