The above referenced Corps Community Centers are the church and social service home of The Salvation Army in those communities. For worship service times, contact the center in your area!

In areas around the Heartland Division where there are no physical Salvation Army facilities, the Army utilizes Service Extension representatives. Service units provide immediate emergency assistance to help those in need in any given community. The work of the service units is funded through Christmas kettles, donations, United Way funding and mail appeals. Services include direct financial assistance in crisis intervention providing food, lodging, rent, clothing, utilities, prescriptions, transportation, transient service, Christmas toys, back to school supplies, and “Project Help”, assisted by the Illinois State Police.

Currently, there are more than 230 service units and more than 1200 volunteer Service Extension representatives throughout the Heartland Division. In addition, we have four Service Centers in the Heartland Division:
