The Salvation Army shares its communities with many local and national corporations. Many of these businesses recognize the pivotal work our mission brings about in others and decide to join the support for those in need. This opens up so many opportunities for The Salvation Army and all of the local families & individuals around us. We find new ways to utilize a business and their desire to help the local community.
In Galesburg, our Salvation Army family serving Knox County had new opportunities opened by the generosity and support of local business: Blick Art Materials. With the greatest summer need being additional funding for our summer camp programs - Blick Art Materials was more than willing to not only help fund over 45 nights for 20 kids but they also were happy to share what this opportunity meant for them:
"We are thrilled to partner with The Salvation Army and are sure our donation will help more youth have a great camp experience - and help them explore their communities in new and creative ways! We were founded in Galesburg and for 100 years have proudly maintained our core operations here. Supporting our local families is greatly important to us. We strongly believe in providing lifelong learning opportunities for youth in arts - both within schools and the community. By supporting arts education and inspiring our young artists, we stand by the idea that the arts and creativity are vital to solving today's problems. By contributing to community organizations (like The Salvation Army) we strive to serve youth by providing what they need to learn, grow and reach their creative potential. We look forward to an ongoing and successful partnership with The Salvation Army as we continue our common goal of serving the families in need from our local community. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this amazing opportunity."
