The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of January 9

Jan 6, 2023

Each New Year brings with it the hope of new blessings and beginnings. When Jesus was born those thousands of years ago, He brought new hope and blessings for man – an opportunity to be forgiven of our sins and find life everlasting.

As we enter the first week of 2023, we all bring with it these hopes – hopes for peace, prosperity and good health for ourselves and those we love and who are special to us.

Happiness and peace require personal commitment and attention. Only we can truly make ourselves happy – we can’t rely on others or things to make us happy.

Peace has a personally unique definition and interpretation for each of us, what we find peaceful may be very different from your family member, best friend or neighbor.

It’s up to each of us to do our part to accomplish whatever we set as our goals and desires in the new year. We are in control of making these things possible and true.

And when we trust in God’s plan for us, we achieve a level of happiness and prosperity that we never could have accomplished alone let alone ever imagined.

It’s with His help and guidance that we will truly find our path for 2023 and beyond.
