Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts

Providing physical needs such as grocery, utility and gift assistance, to emotional experiences including holiday events and traditions.

Last Christmas...we served over 1,000 children

The Salvation Army of Kenosha serves children, parents, families and community members through our Christmas programming. These programs include our Dinner with Santa Program, Toy Shop Program, Adopt a Family, The Angel Tree Program, and our food program. Our desire is to see that our community is blessed during this special time of year.

"I Can't Thank You Enough..."

When Cheryl came to the Salvation Army, she had lost all hope. A single mother of five, working two jobs, barely making ends meet. She wasn't sure she'd be able to provide something for her kids this Christmas. Then, she was given the opportunity to enroll in the Adopt a Family Program. Cheryl carefully wrote down her children's likes, hobbies, clothing sizes. An anonymous donor adopted Cheryl's family and neatly wrapped the gifts. Upon receiving the packages, Cheryl broke down in tears- "I can't thank you enough..."

How we help brighten the holidays

The Angel Tree Program
This program allows community members to purchase a gift or gifts for a variety of children in our community. Gifts will then be added to the Toy Shop to be given to a child. It's simple to participate as well! Simply visit a location that has an Ange Tree Tag, pick out the amount of tags, purchase a gift that fits the gender/age description on the tag and drop the gift off at the Salvation Army.

The Toy Shop Program
This program allows parents and guardians of children in our community to pick out a gift for their child/children. Set up as a Toy Shop and staffed completely by volunteers, parents & guardians can have a peace at mind that their child/children will be able to open something up at Christmas. Volunteers are always needed at this six day event.

Registration Begins MONDAY OCTOBER 1st

The Adopt a Family Program
This program allows community members, companies, employee groups, and other organizations to adopt a whole family (or families) and purchase specific gifts requested by the families. For individuals wishing to make a more personal approach towards the Christmas season, this is a great opportunity to do so.
