The Salvation Army celebrates the birth of Christ by spreading His hope, love and joy to less fortunate members of our community. In fact, our gift-giving programs and fundraising initiatives are a direct answer to God's calling to care for the poor, hungry, sick, and displaced. From physical needs such as grocery, utility and gift assistance, to emotional experiences including holiday events and traditions, to spiritual guidance that provides healing and hope, we work to assist the whole person through gifts that serve the body, mind and soul.
The Salvation Army works to make sure that children in every family circumstance have a reason for joy on Christmas morning and hope through each new year. The Angel Tree program reaches 25,000 children across West Michigan each Christmas! We also provide food vouchers to help provide a Christmas meal for those in need.
If you live in Kent County and need holiday assistance, visit your neighborhood food pantry to get information and sign up or call the United Way 2-1-1 hotline by dialing 211 or 1-800-887-1107.
Families are invited join us for breakfast, crafts and fun, including a photo with Santa, himself! Events are held each Christmas season both at our Kroc Center and at Little Pine Island Camp. Watch for details in November!
Our Senior programs at both Fulton Heights and the Kroc Center offer a variety of holiday programs especially for Seniors to make sure that every member of our community has an opportunity to experience the love and joy of the season.
Join the fight for good.
