Back2School Collaborative prepares to “Stuff the Bus” with School Supplies
LA CROSSE – Wal-Mart and the Coulee Region Back2School Collaborative are joining forces to provide new school supplies to local children in need during the “Stuff the Bus” campaign event at the Wal-Mart La Crosse & Onalaska locations.
As part of a nationwide effort, the “Stuff the Bus” campaign event in La Crosse County is one of nearly 3,000 similar events taking place at Wal-Mart stores across the country. In-store shoppers visiting their local Wal-Mart between Friday, August 7th and Sunday, August 9th during business hours will be able to drop off the requested items at Back2School collection bins located at the front of each store in La Crosse and Onalaska.
“During these uncertain times, it’s important that our youth have a positive and excited outlook on the changing year,” said Major Jeff Richardson of The Salvation Army of La Crosse County, “We want our kids to have the same experience without the concerns – even if at home.”
For those unable to make it to the store that day, there is a searchable online registry with all the items needed; each item requires just one click to purchase. LINK TO REGISTRY
All donations made at “Stuff the Bus” campaign events will remain in the local community and will help the Coulee Region Back2School collaborative to provide back-to-school support to families and children in need. Public donations are needed to keep up with program demand. For more information regarding the Back2School program, community members may call The Salvation Army at (608) 782-6126.
