National Salvation Army Week 2021
This year National Salvation Army Week fell between May 10th through the 16th. National Salvation Army week is a week that is set aside for The Salvation Army to showcase to the community what we do within the community.
National Salvation Army Week was first declared by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and The United States Congress in 1954, and has served as a reminder a reminder to give freely of themselves. In his speech, President Eisenhower said:
“Among Americans, The Salvation Army has long been a symbol of wholehearted dedication to the cause of human brotherhood. In time of war, the men and women of this organization have brought to those serving their country far from home, friendliness and warm concern. In the quieter days of peace, their work has been a constant reminder to us all that each of us is neighbor and kin to all Americans. Giving freely of themselves, the men and women of The Salvation Army have won the respect of us all.”
During National Salvation Army Week it is important for us to show and inform the community the different services and programs that we have. Through out the week we will be showcasing the programs each day on Facebook and Instagram. We will be posting photos and videos that highlight the amazing things happening.
