$20 Becomes $100 in Final Week of The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign
Multiplier match starts December 19 at all Salvation Army Red Kettles in Tippecanoe County
The Salvation Army of Lafayette is excited to announce a special match that will take place at all Red Kettles starting on Thursday, December 19 and running through Christmas Eve, the final day of the annual Red Kettle Campaign. Thanks to the combined effort of several anonymous local donors and the Scheumann Foundation, up to $50,000 is available to be unlocked as part of the match challenge, but The Salvation Army will need the public's help to make the most of this incredible opportunity.
As part of the "$20 Bill Challenge", all $20 bills will be matched 5-to-1, turning a $20 donation into $100. All other donations, from $10 bills to pennies, will still be matched 1-to-1, doubling the impact of even the humblest of gifts.
"I am so excited to have partners in our community to help with meeting the needs of the less fortunate by giving matching dollars for our Red Kettle program December 19-24," said Major Marlys Anderson of The Salvation Army Lafayette Corps. "The $20 Bill Challenge will be a big incentive for our community to stop by and drop off their $20 bills. This money will make a huge impact on many lives at this Christmas time and throughout the entire next year. Thank you so much for your support."
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this week will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Hobby Lobby, and near JCPenney and Kohl’s at the Tippecanoe Mall. Volunteer bell ringers are still needed to man every kettle through Christmas Eve. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this week is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
