Donations to Salvation Army Red Kettles to be Doubled Thanks to $5,000 Gift
The Salvation Army's annual Christmas fundraising campaign will be getting a big boost over one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. November 25-26 cash donations dropped into Red Kettles across the county will be doubled thanks to a generous $5,000 matching gift from Indiana Business Advisors. This match will be used to encourage holiday shoppers to give a little more than they might otherwise to make an even bigger impact in the lives of their neighbors in need.
On behalf of Indiana Business Advisors, Len and Sue Fulkerson shared their reason for supporting the charity through a Red Kettle match: "The Lafayette community is very special to us. Indiana Business Advisors is thrilled to offer this Red Kettle match so our neighbors can double their impact to help people in Tippecanoe County facing challenges and bring new hope for a better life."
As inflation outpaces many paychecks, The Salvation Army has worked tirelessly to meet the increased needs of Tippecanoe County with emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and food. The funds raised by Red Kettles will help to ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to meet these needs while providing regular programming and services to children, families, and adults in the community.
"We really appreciate our donors who provide Red Kettle matches during the Christmas season," said Lt. Aaron Johnson of The Salvation Army Lafayette Corps. "With inflation, kettle matches double the power of every gift, sharing the love of God even more."
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Big Lots, Hobby Lobby, Kohl’s, and JCPenney. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
