Anonymous Gift Will Double Donations to The Salvation Army
Anonymous Gift Will Double Donations to The Salvation Army
Red Kettle donations in Tippecanoe County will be matched up to $10,000 December 12-14
Shoppers are out looking for deals, and The Salvation Army has a great one that will last just three days. On December 12, 13, and 14 all gifts made to Red Kettles at local businesses will be doubled thanks to an anonymous local donor. This means that a $5 bill becomes $10 and every $20 turns into $40. The donor is offering up to $10,000 in matching dollars and is encouraging shoppers to dig a little deeper in their pockets to help out those in need across the county.
With just 13 days left of bell ringing at Red Kettles, this gift comes at a critical time. Funds raised during this annual fundraising campaign make it possible to provide vital programs and services throughout the following year. Emergency assistance, food, and community center programs are all supported by the Red Kettles.
"I'm so grateful to all our supporters for stepping up this Christmas season and sharing their blessings with those who are suffering in our community," said Major Marlys Anderson of The Salvation Army Lafayette Corps. "It's our hope that shoppers see that their donation will be doubled and decide to give a little more to make an even bigger difference in someone's life. This is a great opportunity to really see your giving really go the distance!"
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this week will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Hobby Lobby, and near JCPenney and Kohl’s at the Tippecanoe Mall. Volunteer bell ringers are still needed to man every kettle the full three days of the match. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this week is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
