Cole Hardwood Matching Kettle Donations
Red Kettles are out across Cass County, and The Salvation Army's annual Christmas fundraising campaign will be getting a welcome boost on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
On December 18, the last Saturday before Christmas, cash donations dropped into Red Kettles across the county will be doubled thanks to a generous $1,000 matching gift from Cole Hardwood. This match will be used to encourage last-minute holiday shoppers to give a little more and make a big impact in the lives of their neighbors in need.
"Cole Hardwood is happy to partner with The Salvation Army because we know they are most effective in helping people in Cass County facing really challenging circumstances," said Tori Cole-Wagoner with Cole Hardwood.
The Salvation Army has worked tirelessly to meet the needs of Cass County residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to offering financial and food assistance, the community center has become a place of refuge for local residents of all ages. Recently staff has seen a rise in the need for financial assistance with rent and mortgage payments as the effects of the pandemic and shut-downs continue to plague local residents.
The funds raised by Red Kettles in November and December each year help to ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to meet these increased needs while providing regular programming and services to the community.
"Our hearts are full of joy with what God is doing in Logansport!" shared Lt. Elis Morales of The Salvation Army Logansport Corps. "Cole Hardwood's kettle match this Saturday will double the effect of every kettle gift. More children will have something to open on Christmas morning, more hungry people will be fed and sheltered and more people will experience God's love."
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle on December 18 will find bell ringers at Walmart, Big Lots, Rural King, and D&R Market. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com to find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
