Emergency Assistance Application

The Salvation Army of Grant County's Emergency Assistance program is designed for families/households facing one-time emergency situations that landed them facing eviction or disconnection of utilities. The aim is to come alongside households to rectify any past-due bills, setting households up for success by assisting them in facing only current bills. In the face of emergencies or life happening, The Salvation Army aims to come alongside families/households in Grant County.

Anyone seeking consideration for assistance with rent or utilities will need to complete an online application. Applications will be processed in the order received and dependent on meeting criteria (listed below) and resources/funding available.

In order to qualify for emergency assistance from The Salvation Army of Grant County, households must meet the following criteria:

  • Live in Grant County Indiana (Click here if you live in Indianapolis)
  • Have Sustainable Income on a normal monthly basis
  • Utility Bills: Be Under a Current Disconnect Notice
  • Rent: Have a Current Eviction Notice

Please note: Households/Individuals are only eligible for Emergency Assistance once every 12 months.

Please complete each section, by pressing the "Next Page" button to go to the next page. When you have completed all sections, press the "Submit" button. You will receive a confirmation prompt indicating that your assistance application has been submitted for review and consideration. To proceed to the next page, you will need to complete all required fields. If a required field is not complete, you will be prompted to correct it in order to proceed.

Please verify that you receive an email confirmation upon submission of your application. If you do not receive an email confirmation you may need to re-submit your application. Email confirmation is verification that it was properly sent to us at The Salvation Army.

Completion of this application does not guarantee financial or material assistance, but we will contact you by phone or e-mail to schedule an appointment to meet with you one-on-one.  Please allow up to 2 business days for us to get back with you. God Bless!
