Marion Corps Updates
Briefing from Our Envoy
Greetings in the name of the Lord:
I pray this day finds you fulfilled and joyous. Many things have been happening here in Marion over the past few weeks and months. Lt. Micheala Lendt was transferred to Chicago in June after her marriage to Cadet Matthew Manly.
I am the new administrator of the Salvation Army of Grant County, Envoy Raymond Daniels. I have lived in Marion for several years working for Mississinewa Community Schools and Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service for the past 13 years. I have a heart for people and meeting their needs in Jesus’ name.
I am excited about the potential for Grant County to be an amazing place to work and live. My goal for this next year is to begin programs and partnerships with donors like you and other non-profits to break the cycle of poverty. Some exciting things already taking place in Grant County are as follows:
- We have received funding for a new 12-passenger van that will help provide safe transportation to and from church activities and summer camps.
- A donation of $5,000.00 was received for a Tuff shed to help with things needed for ongoing programs.
- We have served 1,242 families through our pantry. With the number of first-time users up 20%.
- We were awarded $12,750 from the 212° Grant to start a gardening/canning program.
- We are serving 22 children in our character building and archery programs on a weekly basis.
- We are blessed to have a full-time volunteer receptionist/writer/graphic designer for promotions and social networking. This helps out with time management and office proficiency, as well as greeting people as they come through the door.
So many good things are happening, and it’s because of people like you with big hearts willing to give.
We have started preparing for the Christmas season and are looking forward to the Lord's blessing Sign Up
I personally wanted to thank each one of you for your kindness and generosity. You give me the tools to accomplish what needs to be done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Blessings,
His Witness
