Fay Servicing Donates More than 1,000 Backpacks for Chicagoland Students in Need
For the fifth straight year, Fay Servicing and Constructive companies has helped The Salvation Army prepare our neighborhood kids for the new school year by donating more than 1,000 backpacks. In this guest blog from Fay, we learn about the motivation for their generosity. Thanks, Fay Servicing!
It’s hard to believe that in many parts of the country kids are already going back to school. Over the last month, the team at Fay Servicing and Constructive companies has been busy with our annual backpack drive.
For the last five years, employees have been asked to donate new backpacks for students. Once they are all collected, we get together in the middle of the summer and fill them with supply kits, which include highlighters, notebooks, scissors, pens, pencils, glue and crayons. Last year we donated 1,231 backpacks. This year’s goal was 1,500 – and we topped that with over 1,800 backpacks! Not bad for a company with 800 employees.
We were happy to once again partner with The Salvation Army to deliver these backpacks and supplies to students in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas – all states where Fay-Constructive has offices or is headquartered. Each location saw at least a 100% participation rate.
Our employees have a well-deserved reputation for providing the best service to our clients and customers. And through our charitable initiatives, they also have shown themselves to be kind and generous people who give back in powerful ways.
Students may not be thrilled that summer is over, but going back to school with a new backpack filled with the supplies they need might make the first day of class a little easier.
