Feeding the Hungry in Detroit

Each day our Bed & Bread Club truck drivers make their way through Detroit, traveling multiple routes and making 60 stops to feed the hungry. That includes holidays and days when the weather may prove dangerous, because we understand that hunger doesn't take any days off. On days so cold that schools and businesses must close and even the postal service can't deliver mail, our trucks deliver hundreds of meals to people who otherwise would not eat at all.

As is the case in many cities across America, Detroit has its share of economically depressed areas, making access to quality food and shelter more difficult. The Bed & Bread Club is just one of many ways in which The Salvation Army strives to provide support for these Detroit communities.

Join The Club

Give Monthly

$20/month helps feed 120 people per year. This is our most popular option.

Give Once

Thanks to the support of our incredible donors and corporate sponsors, we are able to serve nearly 1.7 million meals annually and provide nearly 52,000 nights of shelter to those in need throughout the year. However, hunger and homelessness still persist in our community. Your continued support can help us provide more. Consider joining The Club That's Here for Good: You can feed five people for nearly a month for $120 -- or 10 people a month for $240!
