For over 75 years, The Salvation Army Harbor Light has skillfully served individuals throughout the Metro Detroit area, maximizing their potential for recovery, self-sufficiency and re-entry into society after battling alcohol and drug abuse.
Harbor Light provides prompt response 24/7 to meet the needs of walk-ins and referrals ready for treatment. Services are provided for male and female adults physically and mentally able to participate in the program.

The Great Lakes Division Harbor Light System includes an inpatient residential addiction treatment program that offers a wide variety of support for the early stages of recovery. During the detox stage, clients receive a physical exam, go through drug screening and are referred to next-level care. For those admitted to the residential inpatient program, food, shelter and support aid them on their journey to a drug-free life. This includes spiritual counseling and support groups.
Our outpatient and other services focus on helping women and children suffering abuse as well as legal aid and case management services. This includes transition services for veterans, temporary shelter and help with utilities as clients work towards independence following recovery.
