Our Annual Red Shield Run this year is a Virtual 5K! You can support The Salvation Army of Michigan City by running right in your own neighborhood. Proceeds from this event will help support the many programs and services offered by The Salvation Army of Michigan City including the largest food pantry in La Porte County, utility assistance, diaper bank, Pathway of Hope case management, school uniform exchange, summer camp, youth programs and more.
Stay-at-home orders, quarantines and social distancing has us all feeling a bit antsy. We're ready to do something, but there's not much to do.
The Salvation Army has an opportunity for you to get out and be active while maintaining safe distance from others - but supporting those in need in your community at the same time. Sign up now for our virtual 5K!
Over the past three years, The Salvation Army of Michigan City has offered the Red Shield Run as a way to get out into the community with fellow runners (no matter your experience level) while supporting our efforts to help those in need.
This year - to maintain social distance - we have converted this run into a virtual 5K. Simply:
- Register online
- Run a 5K on your own any time through the end of June
- Post your results to our Facebook event
- We will announce winners at the end of the month! Top male, female and youth (16 and under) will receive a medal.
