The Salvation Army Teams Up with Walmart to “Stuff the Bus”

The school year can be a stressful time for families.

One in five children are living in poverty, parents often have to choose between buying school supplies or putting food on the table.

School supplies remain critical to helping students feel prepared to succeed.

To start the academic year off right, The Salvation Army is running a national school supply drive from August 6-8.

Shoppers can purchase and drop off items in collection bins at the front of the store at all the Wal-Mart Super Centers in Springfield, Nixa and Ozark.

Want to shop online? No problem, we have teamed up with Wal-Mart to create a Registry For Good - online. Just click on our link to shop online and have your items shipped directly to our main office for distribution.  Registry for Good | Registry landing page (walmart.com)

All donations will be distributed to families in the community to ensure more kids will enter the school year prepared to succeed! Anyone with emergency school supply needs may call us at: 417-862-5509.

In addition, we are happy to be adopting Bissett and York Elementary Schools again this year!
