Auxiliary members participate and support in a wide range of ways, including:
HISTORY
The Women's Auxiliary was founded in March, 1951, by Mrs. Herbert Orear. The first meeting was held in the home of Mrs. Robert Normandie and the following officers were elected: Mrs. Herbert Orear, President; Mrs. Robert Normandie, First Vice-President; Mrs. Grant Stauffer, Second Vice-President; Mrs. Louis Marks, Third Vice-President; Mrs. Wilbur Bartles, Secretary; Mrs. A.C. Trefzer, Treasurer; Mrs. Jack Nourse, Historian; and Mrs. Lt. Colonel Glenn Ryan of The Salvation Army was Liaison Officer. On May 20, 1959, the Women's Auxiliary awarded Mrs. Orear the title of President Emeritus and Life Membership in recognition of her service to the Auxiliary. She died in California in February, 1980. From this nucleus of dedicated women, the Auxiliary's membership continues to grow and reach out to touch the lives of numerous men, women, and children in Kansas and Missouri.
