Happy July Fourth from The Salvation Army
Get ready to fire up your grills, light some sparklers, and waive Old Glory. July 4, 2018 is upon us.
Whether you’ll be celebrating at your cabin, home or elsewhere, don’t forget to pause for a moment to reflect upon the freedoms we enjoy in America. Remember all who have died in service to our country. Think about the brave soldiers who, right now, are risking their lives and enduring time away from their families in order to preserve our way of life. It is because – and only because – of their sacrifices that we live in freedom.
The Salvation Army is proud to serve hundreds of soldiers and veterans in the Twin Cities, Greater Minnesota, and North Dakota. We operate a myriad of programs that provide them with short and long-term housing, basic needs assistance, rehabilitation, counseling, and more.
In addition to serving soldiers and veterans, The Salvation Army regularly honors them by hosting events to celebrate their service, including a recent picnic (pictured) and a gathering to commemorate Flag Day.
“The Salvation Army thanks all of the brave men and women who keep our country safe, and we wish a Happy Independence Day to all of our donors, volunteers, and the people we serve,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division.
