Jump on the Giving Tuesday bandwagon
Giving Tuesday is a day when people across America go out of their way to be generous.
You can jump on the Giving Tuesday bandwagon by donating to The Salvation Army. Every dollar you give will help struggling people and families to win their battle against poverty.
But don’t take our word for it. Hometown hero Joe Mauer can tell you firsthand just how important The Salvation Army is to people in need.
“I’ve seen the effects (The Salvation Army) can have on the community,” said the retired Minnesota Twins slugger, who grew up playing basketball at the West 7th Salvation Army in St. Paul. “The Salvation Army makes such a big impact.”
The Salvation Army Northern Division has been fighting hunger and homelessness for more than 130 years. We provide food, shelter, youth programs, family mentoring, disaster relief, and other critical services for tens of thousands of people every year. Read success story.
Businesses are also encouraged to donate to The Salvation Army on Giving Tuesday. In doing so, you’ll join the likes of top companies such as:
- AT&T, which will give $40,000 to the Twin Cities Salvation Army through its Believe Twin Cities℠ initiative to support homelessness services.
- eBay, which has selected The Salvation Army to be its featured charity during the week of Giving Tuesday. When customers use PayPal to check out Dec. 1–8, they’ll be prompted to make a donation to The Salvation Army. This message will be shown to any customer who has not designated a favorite charity through the company’s eBay for Charity program, which has raised $1 billion since its inception (watch video).
All check and credit card donations made on Giving Tuesday will be directed to the Salvation Army location nearest the donor’s ZIP code. Give now.
Thousands of hardworking families are battling poverty in Minnesota and North Dakota. You can help them win by donating now or becoming a bell ringer. Join The Salvation Army this Christmas season and #FightForGood.
