We fall down, but we get up

Oct 15, 2019 | by Major Paula Pyle

Falling leaves form many heaps, patterns and shades of beauty on the ground. Eventually the trees become bare, but their branches stay in place – and as the snow falls on them, God’s beauty is exemplified.

In our lives we have circumstances that cause us to feel depressed, abandoned, lonely, rejected, humiliated, horrified, and scared. Sometimes we fall back into our old ways of life and think negative thoughts.

God reminds us that as the seasons change outside, our personal seasons of life will change emotionally, financially, physically, and spiritually as well.

When trees start to bud and blossom in spring, they “get back up,” so to speak. In the same way, we fall down in life, but we get back up.

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” Jude 24-25 (KJV)

Prayer: Lord, help us to look up to You who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Lord, lift us up where we belong. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
