Wishing for the right things
By Major Paula Pyle, Officer of the North Minneapolis Salvation Army
The famous Carol ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ is significant for those of us who live where temperatures are colder than normal. When the world looks dark, snowy and dreary, we often wish for warm sun and brighter days.
This Christmas season, as the commercial world tries to convince us to wish for all the things we want, let us remember to focus on Jesus. Allow Him to brighten your day and warm your heart.
Matthew 1:21 says, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
The birth of Jesus Christ is the greatest Christmas gift we could ever wish for or receive. Let His promises be instilled in you and engraved upon your heart, so that as you come into contact with others, you can share with them His love, peace, hope, and joy.
Thousands of hardworking families are battling poverty in Minnesota and North Dakota. You can help them win by donating $25 a month or becoming a bell ringer. Join The Salvation Army this Christmas season and #FightForGood.
