TV star tapped as Twin Cities Christmas Chair (video)
The Twin Cities Salvation Army is proud to announce Amanda Brinkman as Chairperson of our 2018 Christmas Campaign.
Brinkman, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Deluxe, is one of Minnesota’s most notable business executives. She is also a popular TV personality, co-starring in the hit Hulu series “Small Business Revolution – Main Street” with reality TV legend Ty Pennington.
Brinkman is a longtime supporter of the Twin Cities Salvation Army. She is a former member of the Twin Cities Salvation Army advisory board and a four-time competitor in the MOST Amazing Race.
“It is an honor to help The Salvation Army fight for good this Christmas season,” Brinkman said. “I look forward to helping them raise millions of dollars for life-changing programs here in the Twin Cities.”
Brinkman is an expert at helping companies develop ways to intertwine selling products and doing good – a concept she calls “Do well by doing good.” She addressed this topic during a TEDx Talk event last spring (watch her TEDx speech).
The Twin Cities Salvation Army hopes to raise $11.9 million during our 2018 Christmas Campaign, which runs through Dec. 31. About $2.5 million of this goal is expected to come from kettle donations.
Brinkman is scheduled to appear at our “Kickoff on Ice” event on Friday, Nov. 16 and at Celebrity Bell Ringing Day at Mall of America on Friday, Dec. 21. She will also appear in a number of video messages that will be posted to social media throughout the holiday season.
“We are thrilled to have Amanda Brinkman as our Christmas Chair,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson (pictured), leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “Her passion for serving others will enhance our mission to help struggling families win their fight against poverty.”
