The Salvation Army announces new appointments for Twin Cities headquarters leadership

Mar 31, 2023

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Central Territory of The Salvation Army this week announced new appointments that will have an impact on the organization’s Northern Division, which is based in the Twin Cities and includes both Minnesota and North Dakota.

Effective Wednesday, June 28, Major E. Randall Polsley will become Division Commander with the rank of Lt. Colonel. His wife, Major Charlene Polsley, will become Divisional Leader for Officer Development and Northwoods Camp Administrator, with the rank of Lt. Colonel as well.

The Polsleys have been Salvation Army commissioned officers since 1993 and have served in division headquarters roles in Milwaukee and St. Louis, before serving five years in the Finance and Youth departments at Territorial Headquarters (THQ) in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Since 2015, the Polsleys have served as leadership of the Adult Rehabilitation Center Command at THQ. Major Randall earned his bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University and Major Charlene earned hers from Nazarene Bible College.

Current Northern Division commander Lt. Colonel Dan Jennings is being appointed as Territorial Secretary for Personnel for The Salvation Army’s Central Territory, where he will oversee human resources and officer personnel for eight divisions in 11 Midwestern states. This will include three separate commands—Territorial Headquarters, the Adult Rehabilitation Centers, and the College for Officers Training—and will include function for retired officers, the officer appointment process, and employee education.

Jennings’ career with The Salvation Army spans nearly three decades and, in addition to the Twin Cities, has included division commander assignments in St. Louis and Milwaukee. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University and a master’s in theology from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

We congratulate Majors Randall and Charlene Polsley and Lt. Colonel Dan Jennings on their new appointments.
