Pray for those facing the cold

Oct 12, 2018

Seasons are changing and there is a chill in the air. To many, there’s something so comforting about the feeling of walking through the door of your home and being immediately embraced by the blanket of warmth created by your furnace.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that are the most comforting. Unfortunately, there are people who are unable to enjoy what many of us would think of as simple things. They can’t afford to have basic needs met, like heating their home once the temperature dips.

Today, we are asking you to join us in prayer for those who do not have their basic needs met as easily as we do. This looks different for everyone, but it could include anything from needing a warm coat for the winter, to help paying the rent. (Learn how we help meet these basic needs.)

Pray With Us

Dear Lord, I may never be able to fully grasp the needs that people have, but you know each of their hearts and what they need. Bring people into their lives to meet their needs. Help them to feel seen, and to feel your love completely covering them. Show them your goodness through the kindness that others show in Your name. Amen.

Key Bible Verse

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” – Matthew 6:26 (NIV) (Read in context.)
