Pray for those searching for a home

Nov 29, 2018

At a time when everyone seeks the comforts of home, and relishes the joy that forms when we know that we are loved and cared for, there are still so many people who have nowhere to go during this most wonderful season of the year.

Sadly, these people have no home to warm the winter chill settling in their bones, and no friends or family to share the season’s greetings. But despite their unfortunate situations, these people are not without hope. Every time they hear a bell, they are reminded that love’s army is fighting on their behalf to provide them with more than just shelter. They’re fighting to provide them with a sense of belonging. That feeling you get when your loved ones come home for the holidays.

Today, join us in prayer as we ask that everyone find their sense of home this time of year.

Dear Father, through your love we find our community and sense of belonging. We thank you for this gift and the blessings we are experiencing this Christmas season. You have bestowed up us our home, in every sense of the word. Today, we recognize those who do not have a home. Please bring them peace in their hearts, the love of a community, and the security of shelter. May they find the feeling of home this Christmas. Amen.

Key Bible Verse

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” – Colossians 3:15
