Take our virtual pledge on National Day of Prayer

Apr 26, 2018

Thursday, May 3 is the 67th annual National Day of Prayer, when thousands of people from Hawaii to Maine will pray for the United States, its unity, and its families.

Please, remember to take a quick moment to join people in prayer. Say your own, or recite a special prayer written by Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Senior Pastor of Cross Church in Arkansas.

When you bow your head, The Salvation Army humbly asks that you include a prayer for families who are struggling to make ends meet. Pray that these families can break the cycle of crisis. Pray that they can overcome their challenges and begin walking down a path toward stability and self-sufficiency.

Virtual Pledge to Pray

Sign up for our virtual day of prayer and join countless others in lifting their voices to the Lord. When you pledge, you’re simply saying “yes” to taking a quick moment to pray during the National Day of Prayer.

Will you join us by pledging to pray at a specific time?

The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing.” When we each pause for even just a moment, together we can fill the entire day with an unending stream of prayers to the Lord. Thank you for responding to the call.

National Theme & Verse

The national theme for this year is “Pray for America – UNITY.” This call is based on Ephesians 4:3 (NIV), which reads:

“Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

The National Day of Prayer Task Force says, “Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history.”
