When the school year ends, and there’s no money for camp, boredom often sends kids to the streets for entertainment – a place that can be filled with bad influences and big trouble. For over ten years, the Payne Avenue Salvation Army in St. Paul has been bringing those kids off the streets and into a summer day camp program that fosters creativity and learning.
About 90 percent of families we serve are financially disadvantaged, and many struggle to pay the reduced fees we can offer. You can help by sponsoring a youth to attend day camp. A donation of just $170 provides one week of camp free to a youth in need, while $1,760 covers their full summer tuition.
