The Salvation Army’s annual food drive is happening right now. Your help will provide relief to families struggling against rising food costs.

Currently, 1 in 6 Minnesotans struggle with food insecurity, including 1 in 11 children. Over three-fourths of U.S. households now report they live paycheck-to-paycheck and many parents are having to choose between paying rent or buying food for their family. Food from a Salvation Army food pantry can stretch dollars to help cover rent and utility bills.

Drop off your non-perishable items at any participating Twin Cities partners in March. Mail in checks to 2445 Prior Ave. N., Roseville, MN 55113.

Your Donations Help People Like Teri

Teri’s cancer diagnosis has been devastating to her husband and three kids. Their lives have been turned upside down over the past three years while she has endured surgery and chemotherapy. Being on leave from her job, the family’s only source of income has been Teri’s husband.

During these difficult times, Teri and her family have relied on your gifts to The Salvation Army to get them through. Teri has been coming to The Salvation Army for food shelf services. Every week she receives a large box filled with meat, fruit, vegetables, bread, and more.

“Being able to not worry about food is nice when there are so many other bills to think about,” Teri said. “I’m so thankful The Salvation Army is here.”

Thankfully, Teri probably won’t need The Salvation Army’s help much longer. Doctors recently announced her cancer is in remission and she can go back to work. She remains thankful for your donations to The Salvation Army during her hard-fought journey.

KARE 11 anchor teams are facing off to see who can collect the most donations. We are partnering with KARE 11 for the 2024 Food Fight, raising money and collecting food to help families in our who are facing food insecurity.
