After a weekend of deals, Giving Tuesday promotes being #unselfie
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now we have Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
The fourth-annual event will be held nationwide next Tuesday, Dec. 1, providing people across the country with a chance to give back, together.

Give Christmas Away
This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to Give Christmas Away. What’s that mean? It means acknowledging that you have everything you need, but that there are so many people in our community who don’t – and then partnering with us to do something about it.
Together, we can Give Christmas Away to individuals and families who often go without in the form of holiday meals, toys and basic necessities. Everyone deserves to feel loved at Christmas. Let’s join together and put our love for others into action today. Here’s two ways to take part:
- Donate to make Christmas possible – When you donate online to the Give Christmas Away fund right now, The Salvation Army can use that money to give Christmas to someone in need. Learn more.
- Replace your own wish list – You can replace your holiday wish list this year with an invitation for friends and family to help another through Salvation Army programs. Simply sign up to become a fundraiser and share your page with others as a gift replacement option.
