All Twin Cities donations tripled Dec. 18-19, up to $1.5 million

Roseville, Minn. – The season of giving is upon us and there has never been a better time than now to support the Twin Cities Salvation Army.

On Friday and Saturday of this week, all donations, including those made in kettles, online, or called in (651-746-3496 or 1-800-SALARMY) will be TRIPLE-matched up to $1.5 million.

That means your $30 donation becomes $90, $100 turns into $300 and so on. It’s a chance to make your gifts go three times as far.

“This triple match comes at a critical time for us,” said Major Jeff Strickler, Twin Cities Commander. “This is crunch time to make sure we have enough money to fund our programs all year round.”

The $1.5 million gift comes from individual and corporate donors, including $250,000 from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.  A long-time supporter of The Salvation Army, Schulze founded Best Buy and grew up in St. Paul. The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation was established in 2004.

The Twin Cities Salvation Army has raised $5 million so far in its Christmas Campaign, toward its $11.6 million goal for the season.
