Duluth girl gives her Christmas away (video)

Nov 30, 2015

(Watch video) – This holiday season, 8-year-old Anna Stanley of Duluth, Minn. is forgoing gifts for herself. Instead, she plans to Give Christmas Away.

Any gifts and money that Anna normally would have received for Christmas will go toward the cost of constructing new stuffed animals at the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Miller Hill Mall (see photos). She then plans to give away the toys to children who cannot afford one.

“This place is just so amazing, I can’t stop coming back,” said Anna, smiling inside the workshop. “Kids that can’t come here, they actually get to have a bear.”

Anna is already the proud owner of six bears, plus a seventh that she “babysits” for her stepmother, June Stanley. Anna determined that June’s stuffed animal needed extra care while she was at work. Anna is like that: always looking for ways to help others, especially when there’s a Build-A-Bear involved.

“She loves people, loves to help people,” June said. “Always a soft, sensitive heart and always loving.”

Like Anna, you too can Give Christmas Away to individuals and families in need by providing them holiday meals, toys and basic necessities.

Thanks to Anna’s purpose to help others, Build-A-Bear will also Give Christmas Away. In addition to the bears Anna plans to build, Build-A-Bear will donate 100 more that Anna gets to build and donate to local charities, including the Duluth Salvation Army.
