The Salvation Army is always looking for ways to help low income families succeed. Here’s a great benefit from our friends at Walmart, who helped The Salvation Army raise $38.5 million as part of the national Christmas campaign – $1 million of which benefitted North Dakota and Minnesota directly.
If your combined household income was $57,000 or less in 2012, you qualify to have your federal and state taxes prepared for free thanks to over $4 million in funding from the Walmart Foundation. The MyFree Taxes partnership has helped 4.5 million families claim nearly $6 billion in total income tax refunds, tax credits and tax preparer fee savings since 2009.
The partnership provides free tax preparation and filing services both online and in person to eligible Americans nationwide, along with Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) eligibility education.
