Support our relief efforts in Texas and Ecuador

Apr 22, 2016 | by Julie Borgen

Salvation Army staff and volunteers are offering food, water, and emotional support to survivors of recent disasters in Texas and Ecuador – and you can help.

Ecuador earthquakes

More than 500 people are dead and 4,600 injured in Ecuador after a second earthquake struck the devastated South American country Wednesday morning.

The second, 6.2-magnitude earthquake comes just days after a 7.8-magnitude quake struck over the weekend. Hundreds of people are still missing. Ecuador’s president estimates the damage at close to $3 billion, according to news reports.

Disaster workers from The Salvation Army are on the scene supplying food, water, and spiritual care to rescuers and survivors. Your donations to The Salvation Army World Service Office support their relief efforts.

Texas floods

Texans are bracing for more rain today as they continue to battle flooding in Houston. At least seven people have been killed by rising waters that destroyed more than 1,000 homes, according to news reports.

The Salvation Army is on the ground in Texas providing food, water, and spiritual care to first responders and survivors.

You can donate directly to help support people in the Houston area.
