Supply Drives
Want to do a coat or hygiene drive at your business? Does your civic group want to collect school supplies for kids in need? We can partner with your business or group for a supply drive.
Our annual coat distributions typically happen in fall, but some Salvation Army locations partner with businesses to stockpile supplies year-round. We rely on donations of child-sized coats and winter gear from local drives to help ensure each child can dress warmly. Depending on your location, adult coats and gear may also be needed.
We welcome donations of hygiene items, gently-used clothing, shoes and blankets an any of our 50 housing facilities in Minnesota and North Dakota. Our Harbor Light Center in Minneapolis is Minnesota's largest homeless adult outreach facility and is always in need of donated items due to the number of people we serve. To donate items to Harbor Light Center, call 612-767-3100, or contact your local Salvation Army to find out about needs in your area.
Due to the expense of transporting goods, supply drives during disasters are not always the most efficient way to help and are considered on a case-by-case basis by calling 651-746-3483. In times of disaster, monetary donations are the best way to offer comfort to survivors, as it allows us to focus on the most pressing need, be it water, meals or recovery supplies.
