The 21st annual D.J.'s Hero Awards Luncheon will honor 11 high school seniors who have overcome adversity and made an impact on their school and community. Each hero receives a $10,000 scholarship named for D.J. Sokol, son of David and Peggy Sokol. D.J. battled cancer until his death at age 18, showing courage in his struggle and a deep concern for others.
This year's featured speakers are Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy of "The Blind Side" fame.
Tickets are $150 per person or $1,500 for a table of ten. Proceeds from the event benefit Salvation Army youth development programs in Omaha.
