The Salvation Army provides short and long term assistance solutions to alleviate both the obvious and not-so-obvious impact of poverty. We work to identify and address the root issues that cause poverty - like job loss, addiction, homelessness, mental illness, lack of education and many other factors.
We make it our mission to meet the person behind the issue and treat the causes to find sustainable solutions. This is made possible through our different approaches to treating root causes. From emergency housing & shelter, to bill assistance on the way to reliable housing, and a support network of faith-based encouragement, The Salvation Army serves our neighbors in every way.

More than 15 percent of residents in LaSalle County live below the poverty level. Often the day-to-day struggles individuals and families face are unseen. Chances are you know at least one friend, colleague, neighbor or family member who is struggling to make ends meet.

Need help with a bill?
To request an appointment for emergency assistance, please come during business hours with all required documentation. You will be able to fill out the application and leave copies of your documentation all at once. Our Case Worker will review your complete application and contact you within 10 business days about our ability to assist.
