Through your continued support, we are able to come alongside families, singles, and seniors during the holidays when it can be extra difficult. This is often the time they are reminded that they can't afford gifts or a new coat for their kids. Remembering a loved one that has died can also bring a feeling of hopelessness during the holidays. The Salvation Army is giving people the opportunity to step up and make a difference in the lives of others who are in need.
Nearly 130 years later, the Red Kettle is synonymous with Christmas giving in just about every household throughout the nation. Many know that the Red Kettle provides essential funding for holiday assistance programs, but not as many are aware that it keeps our pantries, shelters, and other programs going in the new year and beyond.
COVID-19 has created lots of challenges this year. Due to a decrease in consumers carrying currency, unemployment, store closures, social distancing and increased online shopping behavior, the current climate doesn’t sufficiently support The Salvation Army’s traditional method of collecting donations via our traditional red kettles. The bell ringers that everyone is used to seeing out in the community during the holiday season every year will be less prevalent. However, those facing hardship still need us, now more than ever.
Help us #RescueChristmas to make sure that we can continue helping those in need and do the most good year round. Sign up now to ring the bells at RegistertoRing.com, choose your favorite location and available time slots that work with your schedule.
The Red Kettle is at risk in 2020
You can still help us fill the red kettles from the safety of your home.

By donating toys during the Christmas season you can provide Christmas gifts to a child in need. Angel Tags are placed around the city to make it easy for you to know what the greatest need is. Each Angel Tag represents the real Christmas Wishes and needs of a child in Tazewell County. We combine the generous donations, along with the toys collected through our partnership with the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots to create a Santa bag full of toys for parents to use in order to provide a joy-filled Christmas morning for their children. Look for our Angel Tags along with the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots boxes this winter to help us bring Christmas Joy to families this year.

Christmas is a time to spend with friends and family to share our love and appreciation for each other and for the gift of Jesus. Our church is a family! As brothers and sisters in Christ we gather together in celebration of Jesus' birthday and share in a time of inter-generational fellowship and worship. This service is family friendly, includes brunch, and is held at our regular worship time on Sunday morning. We hope your family will join us!
