Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts Image

Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts

How to give the gift of a smile

Through your continued support, we are able to come alongside families, singles, and seniors during the holidays when it can be extra difficult. This is often the time they are reminded that they can't afford gifts or a new coat for their kids. Remembering a loved one that has died can also bring a feeling of hopelessness during the holidays. The Salvation Army is giving people the opportunity to step up and make a difference in the lives of others who are in need.

How We Help Brighten The Holidays

Red Kettle Campaign

Starting in November you will see the red kettles out at stores collecting money to support the many programs we offer year round as we serve the community through food pantries, financial assistance, youth programs, senior living, drug addiction, homelessness, and more. Volunteers can sign up to ring the bell to encourage others to give, knowing every time money is dropped in the bucket their donation is being used to continue the mission of The Salvation Army in our community. Consider signing up this winter with your family, church, club, and friends!

Toy Shop

By donating toys and clothes during the Christmas season you can provide Christmas gifts to a child in need. Angel Tags are placed around the city to make it easy for you to know what the greatest need is. Each Angel Tag represents the real Christmas Wishes and needs of a child in Tazewell County. We combine the generous donations to create a Santa's Toy Shop for parents to use in order to provide a joy-filled Christmas morning for their children. Look for our Angel Tags along with the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots boxes this winter to help us bring Christmas Joy to families this year.

Christmas Worship Service

Christmas is a time to spend with friends and family to share our love and appreciation for each other and for the gift of Jesus. Our church is a family! As brothers and sisters in Christ we gather together in celebration of Jesus' birthday and share in a time of inter-generational fellowship and worship. This service is family friendly, includes brunch, and is held at our regular worship time on Sunday morning. We hope your family will join us!
