Celebrating Our History of Service: Child Care

Emergency Child Care Center

The Salvation Army Child Care Center is open to children ages 6 weeks through 5 years and offers early childhood programs to those attending. Our developmentally-appropriate curriculum encourages self-expression and creativity; fosters positive self-esteem; strengthens home and school relationships; and promotes better communication skills. Our caring and certified staff believe the foundation for learning includes the total development of the child. Our primary goal is to promote the well-being of the child through positive values, personal growth and academic success.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone in our community. In early April, our Child Care Center became licensed through the State of Illinois allowing us to stay open and serve as an Emergency Child Care Center for first responders and essential personnel in the community.  Since we started providing these services in April, our exceptional team has been able to “Do the Most Good” for our community by providing 159 days of Child Care.

Thank you for all you do for the community!
