Pandemic Partnership Appreciation: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Some of the most successful & exciting parts of our ongoing Pandemic Relief Efforts happen when local community members join us by spreading the word. Sharing our mission & services with others who may be in need, creates a network of support that The Salvation Army cannot establish alone. That is why when we partnered with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a truly outstanding impact was created across Peoria!
Together, members of their church & Salvation Army volunteers/staff hosted a one day Food Box Distribution Event that was more than just successful, it was truly inspiring. The event saw over 850 food boxes supplied to families & individuals, and it was all directly because of the support given by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Each food box was equivalent to $80 worth of groceries which translated to enough food for up to 3 days. All of it came in the form of a variety of healthy & whole foods. The Salvation Army was truly blessed to be a part of this huge impact and also astonished at the turnout made possible by Church of Latter-Day Saints' work to promote this important service. Food supplies were restocked entirely 3 different times throughout the one-day distribution event as cars lined the streets to receive assistance.
This food distribution event embodied the amazing moment when a local need is recognized and met by The Salvation Army's mission and it was all made possible by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We recognize their efforts & can't thank them enough for partnering with The Salvation Army!
